IN 2010 WE WERE ABLE TO SEND AID TO THE YUSHU EARTHQUAKE AREA
Published on:2010-03-13

A few days after the Yushu earthquake happened we were approached by 2 young men
from a university in Beijing. They had raised enough funds to purchase 2 huge tents and wondered if we could send the tents on our trucks. Of course we were very happy to oblige. The next question however threw us a little “ could we go with your truck ? “ !!  We made enquires and were given permission for the young Chinese student, Liu, to accompany the truck. Sadly the American boy could not enter the area so soon after the disaster. So Liu went off on the truck … but didn’t come back !  He decided to stay there indefinitely in order to help the people. Liu became our source and safe point of contact. Through his emails we learnt of many needs and due to the generosity of our donors we were able to send relief aid.

These pictures show a community of elderly earthquake survivors who received donations of blankets from Roundabout.
