SONG ZIHAN BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT
Published on:2013-10-24

Please read on for updates on his progress

OCT 2014 UPDATE

Thanks to your kindness and generosity Song Zihan was able to have his much needed treatment. Sadly his recovery has not all be uphill and his precious life still hangs in the balance.

BYIS parent Jenny went to visit him and took a few photos with Zihan learning pottery making. If you look closely, you can tell how much his disease has changed his look. But he’s happy and as much as a fighter as before.

Please keep him in your prayers as he continues his battle.

Oct 24th 2013 UPDATE

It has been a long road for Zihan with doctors having told his mum at one point to give up and take him home to pass.

Mum didn’t give up though, and we pledged to support her every step of the way, no matter how small the chances.

After several hospital moves mum found a hospital willing to accept him on a clincal trial. The results have been fantastic and today we heard that at long last he is ready to have his much needed and much awaited bone marrow transplant.

By next week we will have to deposit 300,000 rmb into his hospital account. As we have 2 other huge money cases right now we are going to have to try to borrow money to help Zihan.

PLEASE, SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THIS CHILD IN NEED. WE HAVE COME SO FAR, WE CANNOT LET HIS CHANCE OF LIFE PASS BECAUSE WE HAVE NO MORE FUNDS.

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. THANK YOU.

April 2013

A lovely woman by the name of Annie alerted us to Song Zihan’s cause. She has been desperately trying to raise funds and then last week came to us for help. Becky, from Roundabout, went to visit the family at the hospital this weekend and has verified everything with the doctors.

Annie wrote:

” It is every mother’s hope to see her child grow up healthily and happily.  However, this seems to be an unreachable dream for the mother of Zihan, a seven-year-old leukemia patient from Xinjiang Province.  Zihan’s mom took Zihan to Beijing for the treatment a few years ago, hoping to provide him with the best treatment possible.  After spending three years in Beijing, Zihan was finally able to return to his home in Xinjiang as his conditions had temporarily been under control.  Unfortunately, Zihan’s conditions got even worse within only a few months of returning home, forcing Zihan’s mom to take Zihan back to Beijing for further treatment.  Zihan cannot go to school like kids of his age and his conditions force him to stay in bed most of the time.  His biggest hope is to return to school some day.  ”We’ve got only RMB50,000, and we’ve already borrowed as much money as possible.  We really don’t know how to come up with the RMB500,000 needed for the treatment, which is the last hope for Zihan.  But we really want Zihan to live and we don’t want to lose him!” Zihan’s mom says worriedly.  According to the doctors at the Capital Institute of Pediatrics, which is the hospital Zihan is getting his treatment at, the total amount for a complete treatment for Zihan’s conditions is estimated to be RMB500,000, including the cost for a bone marrow transplant.  Zihan’s mom knows how difficult it is to raise this amount of money but she is more and more determined to help keep Zihan alive every time she hears him say “I love you!”

Let there be love everywhere in this world!  You can make a difference!  You can be the light in the dark for Zihan!  Your kind support will bring hope to Zihan and his mom and will give them the power to live.

If you would like to make a donation, please do contact Roundabout as soon as possible. Thank you. All money received will be paid into Zihan’s hospital account.
